Our advantageously low teacher-student ratio allows us to offer personal attention from a nurturing staff. Hands on activities are incorporated into the curriculum to make Jewish learning fun and exciting. These might include matzah baking, oil making for Hanukah and musical programs.
Our Framework for Excellence School strives to provide an engaging and meaningful Jewish education for students.
This year, beginning in September, we will be presenting 5 TOT SHABBAT programs for children ages 3-5. Each program will focus on a different holiday. These holidays will be celebrated through activities and customs designed to introduce preschoolers to their rich Jewish culture. The programs will include storytelling, a craft, and refreshments.
During this time, parents are welcomed to stay with their children or attend our regular Shabbat service in our sanctuary.
Our Tot Shabbats will be lead by certified pre-school educators.
Dates for TOT SHABBATS are September 24, November 26, February 25, March 25, and May 27th. All programs begin at 6 pm. While reservations are not a must, it is preferred that you RSVP to Rosanne Lemansky, Principal, at 856-983-8090.
Gan (Kindergarten) classes meet on Sunday mornings at 9:00am.
The Mechinah classes (First and Second Grade) meet on
Sundays from 9:00 AM to 12:15 PM. They are specifically designed to introduce our younger children to the joys of being Jewish. These students learn about the holidays, the Synagogue, Israel, Tzedakah, and introduced to basic Hebrew.
Aleph (Third Grade) through Dalet (Sixth Grade) classes meet twice a week on Sundays at 9:00am and Wednesdays at 4:15pm. Our older students continue to learn about mitzvot, holidays, Jewish values, Torah and Israel. By the end of their Dalet (sixth grade) year, our students are able to lead many portions of the adult services. As they become more skilled, they assume more responsibility so that by the age of Bar/Bat Mitzvah, they are able to independently lead much of the service on Shabbat. All of our elementary students attend Jr. Congregation as well as enjoy two Shabbatonim a year.
Hey (Seventh Grade) through Het (Tenth Grade) classes meet twice a week on Sundays at 9:00am and Thursday evenings at 7:00pm. Current Events, Jewish Humor, and Asian Jewish Communities are a few of the electives that our students may choose. Rabbi Gans meets with our Confirmation students weekly and their Confirmation year culminates with an exciting trip to Israel led by the Rabbi.
Individualized attention is available to every student to encourage each child to achieve his/her highest level of performance. Our individual sessions are designed to help students build and enhance basic skills and encourage a positive attitude about their Religious School experience.
Our hope is that you and your child connect with Judaism as you connect with each other during our specially planned activities!
We continually review, improve, and enhance our curriculum and educational offerings to ensure that we meet or exceed our educational goals. Our teachers support children in the development of their individual strengths and encourage Jewish exploration. Family involvement is an important element of our school's program.
