Shalom!

Congregation Beth Tikvah is a Conservative synagogue of 225 families, founded in 1976. You sense the warmth of “community” the moment you walk into services on a Friday evening. You see it in the hug one is giving another while wishing Shabbat Shalom. You hear it in the Rabbi’s voice as he greets you by name. And you can feel it in the air as the congregation echoes the same melodies you sang growing up. Congregation Beth Tikvah is not just many individuals who practice one tradition. It is many individuals who practice one tradition as one. (more)

At Congregation Beth Tikvah all are welcomed into our community!

  • We welcome Jewish families new to the area.
  • We welcome families who want to be very involved and those who have time for limited participation.
  • We welcome families looking for an excellent education for their children.
  • We welcome inter-faith families and encourage participation by both partners.
  • We welcome Jews-by-choice as they integrate into Jewish life and life at CBT.
  • We welcome non-traditional families and are sensitive to a changing world in which family can mean different things to different people.
  • We welcome families with special needs and are anxious to make accommodations that make all family members feel comfortable.

The synagogue offers an active Sisterhood, Men’s Club, and adult education program. A range of adult education courses are offered including Sunday morning breakfast and discussion with the Rabbi, a regionally acknowledged monthly book club, Friday evening speakers, and our newest Jewish Perspectives on Politics programs. CBT is active in the larger community, as well. Participation with Alex’s Lemonade Stands, Samaritan Hospice, and the Red Cross Blood Drive are just a few of our tikkun olam projects.

Bobbi LeVineCBT offers excellent programming for children and youth. Tot Shabbats and holiday-related classes are offered for pre-schoolers. Our religious school has been awarded the Framework for Excellence certification from USCJ and is offered from pre-school through high school levels. Our Kadima and USY programs are award-winning. Greetings from the President

Arlene LewisShalom!  I am honored to be welcoming you as President of Congregation Beth Tikvah.  The choice about which synagogue to join is not an easy one.  There are many factors to consider when making your decision.  I want to share with you why your choice of Congregation Beth Tikvah is the right one.

We, as a congregation, must offer things of interest to as many members and potential members as possible, keeping in mind that some come to synagogue to worship, some come to synagogue to learn, some come for community or to be with extended family.  And some come to Congregation Beth Tikvah for a combination of each of these reasons.

Congregation Beth Tikvah is all about community.  There is a unique bond among CBT congregants who share holidays, births of children, individual Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, and the passing of loved ones as a community.  CBT’s “Hamish” services are interactive, congenial, unpretentious, and family-oriented.

Affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, Congregation Beth Tikvah is fully committed to the total equality of men and women in all areas of Judaism.

The synagogue is committed to responding to the needs of our congregation.  I urge you to take advantage of all CBT has to offer.  Please read on to see how our members can be involved in many areas.  There is something for every interest.

Best wishes,

Arlene Lewis
President

Greetings from Rabbi Gans

Rabbi Gary M GansWelcome to Congregation Beth Tikvah, our family of families. We are a vibrant, dynamic, and egalitarian synagogue affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. Our members come from a wide variety of Jewish backgrounds. We incorporate both deep respect and love for the Jewish tradition as well as a commitment to make our tradition accessible and meaningful to all who participate in our growing community.

Whether you are attracted by our participatory and engaging Friday evening service and discussion, the joyful tunes of the Shabbat morning and Holiday services, a Minyan at home for a family observing Shivah, or the sharing of ideas at a Sunday morning adult education session, CBT is a place where Jewish community can be found. Some may come to celebrate or to mourn, to socialize or to worship, to be educated or to be rejuvenated. CBT has something to offer each of you.

Please also avail yourself of our social organizations, including our Sisterhood, Men’s Club, 35 Minus Club, Mature Adult Club, or our award winning USY (United Synagogue Youth) chapter. The more you involve yourself, the deeper the sense of connectedness you will experience. Soon our CONGREGATION BETH TIKVAH family will be your second home.

Please feel free to contact me as any need arises!

Shalom,

Gary M. Gans, D.Min.
Rabbi
